Embracing the Shadow

Corona and its consequences of physical distancing,
challenged the performance world to ask questions like

Where do I perform?
Who do I perform for?
How do I perform?
Does this even make sense anymore?

I still do not have the answers to all of these questions.
But I did what made sense to me; Improvisation.

Improvisation shifts the power from the performer to the viewer or at least distributes it. In an online world, in a virtual space where our eyes are tired by excessive screen time and where we don’t want to sit and watch a recorded performance where we can’t touch, feel, sense or relate with the performer’s presence or body, I had the chance to e-meet the beautiful Valencia Selestina. Her project, Metamorfosize is a community of international creators, performers and healers who love to play. And this is how I met many other wonderful and surprising performers who were asking similar questions like me during Coronatimes.
